Checking in drawings to ProjectForce

Use the Check In command to check in a drawing to the library after it has been checked out and modified.

Note    A document can only be checked in if it already exists in the library and has been checked out to you. In the document list, a red check mark icon indicates that the document is checked out to you. If these conditions are not met, the Check In command will display an information message and abort.

To check a drawing in to ProjectForce from within a CAD application:

  1. In one of the following:

Click Check In . The ProjectForce CheckIn Wizard (Step 1 of 2) dialog box appears, similar to the following figure.

  1. Confirm or correct the document class and displayed property values.
  2. Enable Show property dialog to view or edit additional property values before the drawing is checked in. If you are checking in multiple drawings, the Properties dialog is displayed for each drawing so that you can set the drawing’s properties individually.
  3. Click Next to proceed. The CheckIn Wizard (Step 2 of 2) page will appear, similar to the following figure. External reference drawings are listed with the Action of Link because they are not checked out and modified. New external reference drawings are listed with the Action of Add and will be imported.

  1. Confirm that all of the icons in the A column indicate that the actions listed in the Action column can be completed. If you do not want an action to be performed, select another action from the Action list.
  2. If any of the drawings being imported has external references that are also being imported and the external references already exist in the library, the library copies will be overwritten with the imported copies unless you intervene. If the external references were not also checked out to you and you do not want them to be overwritten:
  1. Select the external reference and click the Find in Library button. A Select Document dialog will appear.
  2. Select the drawing that you want to link to the external reference’s parent drawing and click the OK button. The action for the external reference will change to Link to indicate that it will not be imported. ProjectForce will link the external reference’s parent drawing to the library copy instead of importing the external reference.
  1. When you are satisfied with all of the actions to be performed, click Finish. If you enabled the Show Property Dialog option, the Properties dialog box appears, similar to the following figure. Otherwise, the drawing is checked in, the process is complete, and the drawing is closed in the CAD application.

  1. Confirm or correct the displayed property values and Click OK to save your changes. The drawings are checked in to the current library. If you click Cancel, the check-in operation will be canceled.
